Boulder Design Ltd started in January 2005 and provides web development, design and consultancy. We love to work with great people doing great things. This means we choose to work with charities, voluntary and community groups, public sector organisations, academia, local businesses, musicians, artists and friends.

Crisp, clear, warm and rich design for the community and voluntary sector

Based in Derbyshire, we work across the Midlands, North of England and beyond. We work in partnership with other like-minded people, and love to get involved with new ideas and share skills and experiences.

People and partners

Ross HumeRoss Hume is the lead designer at Boulder. He has an extensive background in the world of social research and management consultancy. He has also travelled widely and been involved in volunteer projects around the world. All this gives Boulder a real-life basis for its work: we are not in the business of showing off artistic skills or designing for design’s sake.

We often work in partnership with other like-minded people to expand our capacity and make sure we have the expertise to deliver what you need. One regular design partner is Tor Studio, an outfit based in Matlock, Derbyshire.

Values

We do what we do because we love doing it, and we want you to love the results too! We will dedicate everything necessary to get the job done on time, on budget and with a personal flavour that leaves us with a lasting working relationship.

We will build a deep understanding of what it is you are trying to achieve, and are keen to hear your opinions and feedback. Every project will be treated as unique.

You will get thoughtful and provocative creative output. It will be based on real-world experience of business development, research and consultancy. Involvement in music, travel and the outdoors also contributes to our holistic approach and helps us create work with integrity and coherence.
