First Steps Database

This colossal app is an interface for information. It collects data about service users and their progress so that First Steps can continuously monitor and improve the support they offer.

The app is for use by staff, and the goal for the design was to encourage consistent and coherent use of the system, which ultimately improves the quality of the data collected. A few features include:

• Comprehensive data management for individuals;
• Monitor and record activities such as counselling sessions, email support, volunteering and much more;
• Events scheduling and attendance management;
• Integration with external newsletter providers and ad-hoc mailings within the system;
• Bespoke evaluation forms on a per-event/activity basis allowing monitoring over time, for each activity, or more widely across the service;
• A fully-featured reporting system with some very smart features;
• Extensive logging and tracking of changes and usage of the system.

The app is built on a slick and solid stack of modern technologies. We are really proud of this custom database development.
